Where do Alpacas come from?

Alpacas have lived for over 5,000 years in the Andes, South America. Most Alpacas were imported in the 90's from Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Nowadays Alpcas are no longer imported as they will not be accepted at the Alpaca Registry Inc. (ARI) and without a certificate they are worthless.
